Mrs. Veronica Sami was fondly called mummy by me and
most of the kids and young adults then at Block C in the RSUST Staff quarters.
Mummy was always ready to give advice and intervene whenever I had issues
with my parents which was quite often then. She was one person who always
believed in me and prayed for me even when I didn't believe in myself. She
was my cheerleader, constantly spurring me on even in the most difficult period
then and her house was an extension of mine. Mummy touched the lives of many
and had many children beyond her biological children of which I was chief. I
will miss her dearly and what hurts me most is that I wasn't able to see
her one more time in the hospital before she passed on. One thing that
gladdens my heart is I know that she has gone to be with the Lord because mummy
was a born again Christian and had a passion for ministering the word of Godwhenever she had the opportunity, even if it had to be for a few
minuets. She strongly believed that the word of God had the power to
change anyone no matter how far gone the person was and she never gave up on
anyone.
May the Lord grant her soul eternal rest and give us
all the fortitude to bear this great loss, Amen.
